The Youth Center was first opened in February 2012 with the aim to provide a safe and positive environment for youth and young people to enjoy a variety of activities.
The Youth Center currently has over 300 members and sees anywhere from 45-55 kids come each day it’s open. It is a safe place for kids and youth to come hang out after school and on the weekends; not only giving them something to do, but allows them to build friendships, practice teamwork, and learn life-skills.
During the winter ice is on the rink which allows for kids/youth to ice skate & play hockey.
During the summer it is converted to the concrete floor which offers floor-hockey, basketball, BMX ramps for biking, roller blading and skateboarding.
In addition, Youth Center also offers:
The Games Room where the kids can enjoy a variety of board games, puzzles, and card games with their friends, while downstairs they can play a game of Pool, Ping-Pong or Air-Hockey.
The Art Room is where kids can exercise their artistic talents through drawing, sketching, coloring and painting.
Kids Corner is set-aside for the little tikes to burn energy with a trampoline, bounce house, coloring, basketball, mini-hockey, jump ropes, and lots more.
The Rock Wall was created to allow the kids to explore other talents and try something new.
The Music Room offers youth the ability to practice their musical talents through singing, guitars and drums as well as a place to hang out to sit and listen to music.
The Glow Room is set up for kids to enjoy a game of Nerf Gun Wars with their friends.
The Gym Area is equipped with a bench press, free weights, ellipticals, stationary bikes, punching bag, an Abs Room with med-balls, Yoga balls, matts and exercise bands, all to help those wanting to get into shape and stay healthy.
